About 2d0,000 sea-going passengers now arrive and depart In the year, which is one-third more than the number a few years ago. The combined water area of the King George V. Dock, the Royal Albert Dock and the Royal Victoria Dock, which is one huge dock divided into three sections, is 24d acres, and is the largest sheet of dock water in the world.

RUGBY, April 0. The Lord Mayor of London’s land for the relief of the distressed mining areas, which will be closed on April JO now amounts lo £1,101,000. A Government contribution of. a like amount will he added to this total for distribution to deserving eases.

Sir John Brunner, a director of Imperial Chemical Industries, left unsettled property amounting to £87(5,102. The death duties on U>* sum amount to about £2(50,000. Mi Herbert Gosling, a director of Barclay’s Rank, left £«.“«>,030. death dull." on which amount to about £270,000.
