The year's bomb total in Chicago reached twenty-seven, when a- bomb intended for a taxi ealb garage was thrown by a gangster and wrecked the offices of the suburban newspaper weekly “Suburban Leader.” Another bomb thrown by a participant in the petrol war, wrecked a filling station and damaging a nearby down town hotel.
