After the running of the Progress ’I rot, a meeting of the Stewards was held to consider a protest by T. L. Hennett, driver of Great Adventure, which finished second, that J. Jnrdoii. driving the winner. Kawana,. crossed him in the straight when not two clear lengths ahead. After a prolonged discussion, it was decided that the order he reversed. Great •Adventure being placed first and Kawana second. Jarden was also disqualified for six months.
The totalisator handled £9535, against £7789 last year. Results:— Progress Trot.—(7) Great Adventure 1, (9) Kawana 2, (1) Proud Dillon 3. Won by three-quarters of a length ; a length. Time 2.2(i. Irving Memorial.—(l) Evening 1. (2) Miss Mercia 2, (4) Fairy Tidings 3. Won by 2J lengths; It lengths. Time 2.13 2-5.
Alexander Handicap.—(4) Discordia 1. (3) Kentish Lady 2, (2) Star Stranger 11. 3. Won by one and a-half lengths; a length. Time 1.25. Higliweight Handicap.—{•!) Some Lad 1, (I) Evening 2, (7) Gaslight 3. Won by half a length ; a length. Time 1.33. ' ' ■
Hecfton Trot.—-(7) llingen Wilkes 1, (If: Leading Lady 2. (8) Red Comet 3. Won by three lengths; one and a-liali lengths.
