(Received this day at 10.30. a.m.) SYDNEY, April 10. At the Con! Conference, the President of the Miners Federation, Mr Rees, appealed to owners to give an undertaking that the mines would bv reopened immediately on the prelockout conditions.

No reply from the owners was forthcoming. . The Conference resolved itself into a. committee to consider a basis of a possible settlement.
