APPLE EXPORTS
I NELSON SHIPMENTS. NELSON, April 5. The export apple industry had the best clay of this season yesterday when nearly 51)00 cases were passed for shipment. The apple season is now at its height, and the fruit is coining m Tn increasing large quantities and a very heavy run is expected over the next four weeks. The Stunners variety is now being picked and is coining to band well. The next direct shipment of apples from Nelson will be made at ./■'tin*'end of April on the Karamea. 4. wliich, according to the vessel’s present programme, will commence loading on April S.ntli. Her quota from Nelson will he 32,000 eases. Pp to April 4th. the Nelson district halt sent forward 212,000 eases of export apples and 12,000 crates of pears. Of the apples (in round figures). 41)00 cases came from Motucka and 52.000 from Nelson. Motucka was the leading shipping jin in I'"Tor pears, 5000 coming from there; Mapua shipped 4000 and Nelson 3040 erntes.
