The first Indian air mail arrived at Karachi yesterday, completing a 5000 miles journey in just over seven days.

WILKINS’ TRIP

POSTPONED TILL JULY

It is announced that Sir H. Milkins has postponed until July 1929, his submarine Arctic trip. He explained that the' postponement was decided upon because of the* shortness of time wherein to complete the necessary plans. ’I he decision tor postponement was made within the last forty-eight hours. Puttnam said; “Certain contingencies arose that convinced us the time limit is too pressing.”

POLAR EXPEDITION

An Italian expedition is being organised to search in the Arctic for the lost crew of the “Italia” airship. It is hoped the expedition will leave the Spitsbergen base next mouth. The search will be carried on In small sledges with dog teams. Signor Mussolini has allowed the Milan Financial Committee of the Nobile Expedition to make the attempt as a private undertaking. The funds are considerable.
