i 1 1 1 (From Our Own Correspondent) The Ross Sports meeting which' takes place on Saturday. 13th inst.. promises to he one ol the. most successful meetings yet held. Nominations are coming to hand in large numbers and all that is now roquiicd is a line day. The big chop for which the committee are offering £3O for first prize. £lO for second, and £5 for third, is attracting record competition. Very suitable trains have been arranged for Sports Day, leaving Gre,\ for Ross at 8.45 a.in., and Ross loi Grey and northern centres at (5.2p.m. Hotel properties* seem to he ii great demand in Ross of late. \\ ithir (be past month three of the four local hotels have changed hands- at satisfactory prices. The Commercial Hotel was disposed of by Dir T. Carter to Air C. O’Rourke, the well known chopper. Airs Black has sold the City Hotel to Air Mat Nolan, and Dir F. D. Davis, ol -Marlborough, lias puiehased the Clydesdale Hotel from Air G. T. Adamson. All,of the- new owners are now in possession ol then houses and appear to he well satisfied with their purchases.
