TROUBLE THREATENED

Serious trouble is threatened oil the north-west frontier in India, owing to an outbreak of lighting between tribes Of Sunnis and Sbiaks. The former are orthodox Moslems while the Sh.aks are i egarded as heretics. Acute leeln.g between these tribes culminated in war i„ l‘)-27. when the Sbiaks wee heavily defeated and were driven into British i’orritnry. Sbiaks are now attempting , ,-cgain the captured country. II a move is made to invade Sunni territory widespread tribal lighting is eer-•-,iii. The great danger, however, is that .Sunnis may attack the Sh.aks iirst. This would probably result in British territory being invaded. A big British column at Kolmtis is in readiness, and aeroplanes are engaged m a -lose reoounaissauve^^^^^
