WHITE ON BLUE
NEW NUMI3E.II PLATES. White figures on a blue background will be the pattern for the new motor car number plates this year. No definite date has yet been fixed for the .start of registration, but tlu day will shortly be announced. This year, the tune allowed in which to register will he curtailed, and owners are urged to make their application ior new plates as soon as the office opens, it is possible that fines will be quickly made this year if ears are driven on the street without the new white and blue plates afer the last day of registration.
No number plates will lie issued without owners taking out their third party insurance at the same time. The total cost of registration, including the instiranele, for private owners only, will be £3 2s Gd. Taxis and commercial vehicles will be on a sliding scale. Motorsts are again warned to take a note of their chassis and engine numbers, for both are required for the registration form. Change of ownership .should always be notified.
