AUCKLAND, March 12
The Auckland Rugby Union’s annual report shows that 7000 players are under the Union’s jurisdiction. Owing to representative matches abroad, the profit was £269 last year as against £2757 for 1927.
A ,verv enthusiastic meeting was held at the Three Mile Hall on Friday, March Bth, in connection with Red Cross Peace Time Work. The following districts were well represented Three Mile, Arahura. Arahura Valley, Arahura Pa, Humphreys. It was decided to form a Committee with a representative from each district. The following Committee were elected: President, Mrs Houston (Araliura) ; Secretary, Miss McConnell: Committee, Mrs Maloney (Arahuia), Miss P. Ditoly (Arahura Valley),- Miss Sherriff (Three Mile), Miss Mason (Pa), Miss Hewlett (Humphreys). Twenty members were enrolled and it was decided to start classes on Friday, March loth at 3 p.m. It was left to the Committee to arrange for a room for instructions to be given in; if it can be'arranged classes will be held in the Arahura school room as it will l>e the most central for all districts.
