MOTOR CYCLE FATALITY. (By Telegraph—Press Association). ROTORUA, March 12. Davy Walker, aged 34, a half-caste Maori, married, succumbed in the King George Hospital last night. Deceased was pillion riding in the Government Forest Nurseries, Sitting behind a cadet, Ronald Campbell, when on a' bend the machine struck loose gravel, skidded anil hit the bank, both riders being thrown off. Walker seemed badly hurt and was taken by ambulance to the hospital. His head was injured, and lie died lour hours after admission. MINISTER OF EDUCATION. NAPIER, March 12. The Hon. Mr Atmore, Minister of Education, visited Napier Boys’ and Girls’ High School anil Napier Technical College toklay. He left later for Hastings, where he will inspect the schools. He will receive deputations to-morrow and leaves later for Waipawa, Dannevirk’e. A FORMER RESIDENT. NAPIER, March 12. William Woods, who was cabled as burned in the Hong Kong fire, was formerly a Napier Chemist. He lived here early in the eighties, leaving later for Australia, where he was concerned with the development of Woods Great Peppennit Cure.
COMMERCIAL TRAVELLERS ' MEET.. WELLINGTON, March 12. Thirty delegates" attended the New Zealand Conference of the United Commercial Travellers Association, W. A. Drake presiding. An address was given by Hon G. Forbes on land settlement and farming problems.
