REPLY TO DEPUTATION
v The Hon. G. Forbes (Minister for Railways) replying to Mr J. o : Brien, M.P., in regard to Westland publicity matters brought before Kon W. 'Veitch when in Hokitika recently, states: ‘'Regarding Doctor Teichelmann’s request for further advertising for the West Coast of the South Island, also liis remarks as to there being no mention of. the .Coast in full page advertisements appearing in Australia, I find on looking into the matter that so M : Or the .Coast has been largely advertised in our films, a regular series having been secured of all the main at>v tractions of the district. “As to the newspaper advertising, which is evidently what the doctor has in mind, a campaign was commenced ipst year but was afterwards considerably curtailed on account of lack of FumV* for the purpose. The press advertising done so far has been in the najdre of small two-column or single •Column notices, and no half-pages or •full pages have so far been made use of. ■ “It is hoped this year to go in for a more intensive advertising campaign overseas, and you may rest assured >-that if this is ; done the claims of the West Coast will not be neglected.”
