HIGHWAYS BOARD
COST OF BRIDGES.

WELLINGTON,, March 9.
The Alain Highways .Board reports that during the four years the Board has been operating, the cost of bridge construction has constituted a large proportion of its expenditure. This class of expenditure is by no means at an end as there arp now fourteen bridges in “ various parts of the Dominion either 'being constructed, ox* will have to be reconstructed in thei immediate future, the - total cost of which is £300,000. 'Hie largest of these is the Balelutluv bridge which is estimated to cost,. £60,000.
