VICTORIAN MEETING. NEW ZEALAND SUCCESSES.. (Australian Press Association) (United Service.) MELBOURNE, March 5. The Edwards match of ten shots, at 600 yards commenced. A heavy cross wind made it difficult to hold, requiring up to ■2O degrees windage. The winners of £1 each included Mclvor 7, Hood 46, Peterson 45, Boon 44, Counted out: J. Feas, Swanson 43. The remainder of the New Zealand scorers were Nix. Whiteman, Roots and Orr 42, Kerr 41, Bolton 40, James 39, Feast 35. The Argus and Australian aggregate, represented by the first three matches was brilliantly won by Mclvor, of New Zealand, who succcess is exceedingly popular with the team and with, the Australians. He scored 142, and won £2tf. Other New Zealanders in the prize list (£1 each) are: Soler, James 437, Peterson and Hood 136, Simmons 135. After winning two out of the first matches, the Australian press described the result as the New Zealanders’ day. At a meeting between Colonel Merrett, Colonel Semmens, and Capt. Marshall, the following matches were arranged in which New Zealand will compete against Australian States: Teams matches under Gordon Highland conditions, the Merrit match under Ivolapore Cup conditions, a long range match, ten men a side, ten shots at 800 and 900 yards. The wind was in the same quarter, hut gusty, when the Templeton match of ten shots at 700 yards was fired. Dust made the scoring low. Roots made a fine shoot, opening with an outer, and finishing with nine hulls for 47. He won the match and £lO. Other N.Z. men in the prize list were: Keer and Whiteman 45 each, £2; Mansefield and J. Feast 44, H. Feast 43, Piper 42, Nix and Simmons 41 £1 each.

Feast 34, Soler 32. Sargood, ten shots at 900 yards. The wind was strong with an allowance up to twenty-three feet, resulting in poor scores. Kerr put up a good performance registering New Zealand’s 'fourth win with a score ol 47, taking the match and £lO. Boon. 40, £2. Winners of £l, Roots, Masefield 44, Nix 42, Bolton, Simonds 41. The ’ remainder, Piper 39, H - Fe " s J' Whiteman 38, Hood, Mclvor 3f, Pa_ erson 35, Swanson, James 34, Feast 32, Orr 31, Soler 24. Syme aggregate-Masefield is fourth with 269 points, five points behin the winner, taking £ls, Kerr seventh. 266, won £5, Simonds, eighth, 266. won £3. Fourteen of eighteen New Zealanders got in the prwe list of the aggregate. In the opening stage of the King: «• the atmosphere was cool and wind still lusty. Seven shots at 300, 500 and 600 yards. H. Beast showed some or his New Zealand brilliance and was only heaten for first place in the count back with 102. He takes second prize, £6. Winners of £l, • Hood 98, Nix 97, Masefield 96.
