Five deaths occurred from infectious diseases in Canterbury last week, two being from tuberculosis and one each from pneumonia, diphtheria and septic abortion. The following notifiable cases were reported to the Health Department for the week ended noon on Monday ;—West Coast: Scarlet fever two, diphtheria four.
