Crop-Yt per, which had been loaned to Messrs Shannon Bros., was on the road afidi-’i; Mclntosh, who was in the employ off £ Messrs Shannon Bros., was taking ifcsVi to the farm when the animal attacked him knocking him down and tramp-?.; ling on him, beside goring him on the aj groin, and inflicting serious injuries. The young man was brought to West- * land Hospital for treatment, where his .[£ condition lias been causing some anxiety. On enquiry this morning weG* learnt that the patient was progressing. A Press Association telegram front' Wellington states that; after granting certain legacies, Sir Charles Skerrett, as a first provision of his will, directed his trustees to set aside one-tenth! of the net balance of his- estate-, for the purpose of paying the income from such sum to educational eliari* ties in New Zealand to be from time to time determined by his trustees under certain directions expressed In the will. The will also /bequeath# the sum of £SOO to the authorities of St. Patrick’s College, to be used by, them to keep up the educational an* nuities granted by Sir. Charles : Skerrett in that institution. The estatelias for temporary purposes been sworn at under £BO,OOO.
