To-day Hennessey defeated Carlton Shafer (Philadelphia) 7—5, 10—S; Van Ryn defeated W. H. Story (Freeport, Long Island) 6—2, 6—2. Allison defeated John Millen (Forest Hills) 6—4, 14—12, a record for long sets.
