AN UGLY STORY

[By Telegraph, Per Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, March 7. An astonishing story of crime and incitement to crime was revealed in the Children’s Court this morning, when a 17-year old hoy pleaded guilty to eighteen charges of theft, tnvolv'Lig and lii.s aunt, Elsie Martha Dennis Wright, pleaded guilty to four charges of receiving goods stolen by inc child, knowing the same to have been dishonestly obtained. The circumstances outlined by the police revealed that the hoy was a daring thief, and that his aunt egged him on to the crimes and bun fitted by them,. Wright was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment with hard labour, and the hoy was placed under the care of the superintendent of the Child Welfare League with a recommendation that he he sent to Weraroa.
