NEW YORK STOCK MARKET

(United Press Association—By Electric

Telegi aph—Copyright)

NEW YORK, March 1

The Stock Market had the most sensational bullish demonstration since confidence was shaken early in February. Broad advances were scored in many issues, in some instances fitteen to twenty-five points. The session was generally hailed as a Hoover inaugurated market, and it was helped along by relatively small increases in brokers’ loans, reported yesterday, together with a failure of the local Federal Reserve Board to raise the discount rate. Buying orders flowed in from all parts of the country and the exchange’s mechanical equipment was again hard pressed to keep up with the trading.

NEW YORK. March 1

A Chicago message states Jack Maguru, a noted ace gangster and mach-ine-gunner was arrested and charged with leading the Valentine Day Massacre. He occupied a suite in Slovens’ Hotel, three floors above where the State Attorneys and investigators of this crime were quartered.
