GREY JOCKEY CLUB DISTRICT COMMITTEE. ,Y meeting of the District Committee of the Greymouth Jockey Club was held yesterday afternoon, Mr T. E. Coates presiding and there be-inalso present, Messrs F. H. Ivilgoui W IIParfitt, A. Perotti, and IT. F. Doogan. Through the Racing Conference an application fro mresidents. of Okuni, Soutli Westland, was forwarded to the Committee for its approval for the right to register a racing club at Okuru, the intention being to hold a meeting yearly at Easter time. It vas decided that the committee approve of the application being granted, and that the Secretary request the promoters to forward a copy of their programme for the proposed meeting this Easter. The Secretary, Mr Fogarty, stated that the Reefton J.C., which at the recent conference of clubs hcio had agreed to the arrangement as to mcet--1 ings and dates for the midsummer circuit, had since intimated its withdrawal from the arrangements made, for the reason that it did not wish to conflict with the Westport Trotting Club by racing the day after the conclusion of that Club’s meeting. The Chairman said this was not a matter strictly concerning the District Committee, the Secretary having merely taken the opportunity to supply tie information. The position, he added, was now one of “as you were. Mr Joseph Nuiira made applicatinfor the cancellation of the diqualilicatiun imposed in 1927 upon him. He stated that in the interim his conduct had been such as to justify his application, and that if it were granted he assured the committee if would rmnani I such as to bring discredit neither upon their judgment nor upon himself. The President said that the matter was not one with which the Committee could deal, but the Committee resolved that the applicant be written to and advised to direct his application to the licensing Committee or the Racecourse Inspectors.
