The Smith-Ulm flight to Brisbane will not start until .March IS or 20. owing to heavy rains at Wyndham, in north west Australia, making the hopping off ground soggy. Preparations for the flight are well forward. SYDNEY. February 28. The Southern Cross was aloft this morning, testing her new propellors and her compasses. Her old wireless apparatus is still perfectly efficient. As showing the popularity ol aviation among young Australians, it is stated that seven hundred applications have been received for thirteen Air Force cadetships.
