THEFT CHARGES. (By Telegraph—Press Association). 'TIMABU, Feb. 28. At the Magistrate’s Court, before Mr C. R. Orr-Walker, S.M., Gilbert Henclal Maurice Mayo, watchmaker, and jeweller, Timaru, pleaded guilty to three charges of thefts of bicycles. The Magistrate refused the application for suppression of his name, and sentenced accused to six months’ reformative detention on one charge, and convicted him on the others. He is to come up for sentence if called upon within twelve months. AWARDS FILED. WELLINGTON, Feb. 82. Throe awards have been filed affecting (the ;Fede;rated Cooks and Stewards’ of New Zealand Industrial Association of Workers. In the case of the stewards, provision is made for the payment of a fifty per cent addition to the wages fixed wnen a vessel is placed in '-ommission 01 the purpose of some ei. urgent..' or excursion. The decision is that of a majority of the Court. Mr Monteitb dissented. because no meal hour had been provided for stewards at sea.
