ELEANOR BOLLING RETURNS TO NEW ZEALAND.

Commander Byrd ordered the Eleanor Bolling not to attempt to break through the ice but return with her cargo to New Zealand. The ship turned on Monday night when a thousand and sixty miles south-east of Tairoa Heads.
Byrd stated winter is coming down with such rapidity that the Bolling would probably never escape if she continued southward.
