A DAILY MESSAGE
GET ON THE RICHT TRACK Success is largely a matter of getting on to the right track. An aeroplane is not a success on a railway line; a train is not a success ill the air; a boat is useless on land. Just as a machine—a train, a boat, or any implement—can he completely successful only if it be used for the purpose for which it was invented. So man’s work should be in harmony with liis powers, if lie is to reach Hit maximum success. The man who is working along the lines of his strength swims easily to success with the tide. But the man who is working against the line of his strength struggles with ever-increasing difficulty—to failure—against the tide. Tho man whose work fits his ability is on the right track, where maximum success may lie attained with a minimum of effort. But the fellow whose ability does not fit his work is on the wrong track, where, at best, hut a minimum of success may he- obtained with a maximum of effort. The man who fails because his work is out of harmony with his powers may possess greater ability and apply greater energy to his work than tinman whose success is made easy • because his work is in harmony with his powers. ’ The moral is— get on the right track! Discover your talent. Every man has his strong point, and you have vours. Do a bit of prospecting, fossick round, and find out what Nature intended you to be, hut never lose sight of the fact that Nature never intended ground birds to soar, nor eagles to sing. If you find you are a misfit, make up your mind you have got to get out of your present sphere, and get out. Take a chance, back yourself, and get on the right track. Take it from me, no man struggle:successfully for long against his own character. —M. PRESTON STANLEY.
