Further travellers have heon making their wav across the Alps from the Hermitage to Westland. At the lattei end of last week, Mr S. »T. Gosling of the Wanganui Tourist Bureau, accompanied by Mr W. J. Wilson, oif the “L.vuelton Times” staff, and with Guide Jack Pope, made the journey. Mr Gosling, it is interesting to note, is the first officer of the Tourist Department to make the trip. The party left the Hermitage last Friday and reached the Hooker hut at night. The next day Copeland Pass was crossed in two hours and a-liall'. From Welcome Flat the party travelled to Cooks Flat, and there, after seeing the Fox Glacier, ami being made comiortnhlo hy Sullivan Pros., had the benefit of Toohev's Motors for the trip up, taking Wailm Glacier on route, where Graham Bros, gave the travellers every attention. The trip was most interesting and enjoyable throughout, and is highly spoken' of by the travellers. Last evening Mr Wilson spent a pleasant time with Dr Teieholmaun, who was able to supply much interesting information about the Glacier tours which are now coming into such prominence.
