In the Commons Mr Baldwin announced that Government had reviewed the question of the payment made to Irish loyalist. The recommendations of wie Advisory Committee would be paid in full. Cabinet has never taken the view that payments were a debt of honour.

Praising the Kellogg Treaty as an instrument which must- weigh heavily in the balance for the cause of peace, Sir Esme Howard declared on Friday that George "Washington must eventually prove the greatest link in the chain of friendship and common understanding between United States and Britain. Speaking at the commemoration of Washington’s birthday before the Daughters of American revolution and Sons of American revolution and Children of American revolution, the British Ambassador deplored any spirit of enmity in criticisng those on both sides of the Atlantic who “enjoy stirring up trouble, and whose lips distil gall and wonhword, whose pens are dipped in vitriol.” JAPANESE DISASTER.
