The Prime Minister, Mr Bruce, announced to-day a proposal to nppoiul a Royal Commission In make a till inquiry into the coal industry. i lie terms of reference arc now under consideration. Later Air Bruce laid before Parliament a number of documents relating to the stagnation of tlie coal mining in Now South Wales. He stressed 'lie. need for a reduction of the places of coal, and added that this investigation revealed that at least ten hou.-.niul miners on the northern holds had not received the basic wage, owing to the intermittenoy of the employment.
