At a meeting of' the Grey Distend Acclimatisation Society a petition war presented from a number of the opossum trappers asking that the season be extended for three months, Distent’ of two, owing to tlie weather conditions generally rulinb at the time of the year being unpropitious. The president said the Westland Society had already decided on a two mouths’ seuspn, apd had asked .the Grey Society to observe the same period. It would not 'be advisable to have the season prolonged in the Grey district in fairness to Westland, as the way ;would be opened for skin pirating It was decided to observe the seme opto season as the Westland Society. A letter was received from the Westland Society asking the Grey Socich to co-operate with it in hatching out trout fry at Lake Kanieri hauliery this season. The president suggested that if the Grey Society intended stocking the rivers te the same extent as last year, it would be advisable to enter into a similar arrangement with the Westland Society as last year’s, which proved eminently satisfactory, The member present concur red that, last season’s operations were a credit to the Hatchery Committee. It was resolved to leave it to the Westland I,Society to decide what quantity of ova would be hatched, llie terms to be the same as last year
