DIED AT SEA
CHIEF JUSTICE OF NEW ZEALAND SIR CHARLES SKERRETT By Telegraph, Per Press Association. ] WELLINGTON, Feb. 19. The Prime Minister has received advice from the High Commissioner, that following cerebro spinal baemotrhngc, Sir Charles Skerrett (Chiel Justice’of New Zealand), died at sea on February 13th. Sir Charles Skerrctt (Chief Justice of New Zealand) succeeded Sir Roi.-ert Stout on his retirement from flic Chief Justiceship in February. 1926. Last year Sir Charles Skerrctt had a very serious illness as a result ol which it was found necessary to amputate both his legs. He had recovered sufficiently to enable hint to taue a sea voyage, which, alas has terminated fatally.
Prior to his elevation to the Chief Justiceship, Sir Charles had a distinguished career at the Bar.
