EMPIRE EXHIBITION
CANADA’S SPECIAL DISPLAY
(United Press Association. —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.)
(Received this day at 12.25. p.m.) , LONDON, February 18.
The most notable feature ot the Empire Exhibition at White City is the continued dominance of Canada compared with the other dominions. Lastyear Canada did not participate in the Marketing Board’s offer to finance all the Dominions’ exhibits because she preferred to have an independent display. This year Canada participates equally with the other dominions at the eost of the Marketing Board. Nevertheless, she insists on an independent, supplementary display at her own expense, amounting to five-1 old of Australia and New Zealand combined. While each dominion, including Australia, Canada and New Zealand received GOO square feet free space, Canada spends LT.OOO on an additional 5,000 ilcet. for a separate court, wherein she exhibits Canadian manufactures not included under the Marketing Board regulation, which restricts its activities to products. I 1 urtliei moi o, Canada is the only dominion participating in the Birmingham section ol British Industries Exhibition, which is restricted to Empire machinery, wherein neither Australia nor New Zealand compete. One result ot Canada s tu terprise was that within twenty minutes an order was placed by a British linn for CIO.OOO of Canadian honey. Australian and New Zealand exhibits .are excellent, hut duplicated last years, notably in agricultural, pastoral, dairy and viticul'tural products.
