MISS RHONA HASZARD’S EXHIBITION. LONDON. January o. Miss Rhona Haszard (Mrs Leslie Greener), wbo, with her husband, has been in Alexandria for the past year, held an exhibition of, her paintings recently at G'laridge’s Hotel in that city. The exhibition was a great success, both 'from a financial point of view and on account of the sympathetic attention which her work attracted among Hie people. A't the request of critics from Cairo, she is to repeat the exhibition there at Easter.

1 lie Catalogue shows a collection of both oil paintings and water colours, The majority are landscapes depicting scenes in New Zealand, Brittany, Sark, France, and Egypt. Among the New Zealand works are: “Snow at the Foothills.” “Summer.” “ Frosty Morning,’ “Christchurch Gardens,” “The Avon,” “ Eyeglasses,” and “ Sun Bathing.” The local paper, the Egyptian Gazette, devotes a column to the exhibition. In the course of his notice the critic says that Miss Hazard’s versatility is manifested in her wiiie range, of subjects and variety df treatments. “The artist seems to be at homo in anv subject, and treatment ol landscape, still life, and portraits being ff'imlly successful. The progress made from the impressionistic work on leaving the. art school to the more deliberate work of lier artistic: maturity is clearly shown.” The detailed description and critic sm of the paintings are appreciative, not to say flattering. The artist’s husband. .Mr'll. I>. Greener, also an artist, is now a master at the Victoria College. The two met at an arts school in New Zealand. Marrying soon after, the young couple came to Europe to work together at the Academic Julian, n\ Ihnis, under the direction of Jean Paul Lauraiis. Both Mr and Mrs Greener held an exhibition in Paris a. year ago.
