OUTBOARD MOTOR BOAT RACING

Dr H. M. Buchanan and Mr J. N. Robinson left Hokitika this morning to represent the Lake Kanieri Boat Club at the Outboard Motor Boat Championship to/ be held at Akaroa Harbour in conjunction with the Sanders Cup contest on the 16th and 18th of February. The speed boat “Pit-a-Pat” recently constructed by Mr Robinson has been forwarded to Akaroa, and will be used in the Championship contest. This boat is of remarkably light 'construction, and is equipped with a 16 h.p. “Evinvude” motor of late design. In view of the very successful tiials obtained on the Hokitika River yesterday; the Club members anticipate that a very creditable performance will he given by this craft.
