INTER-CLUB TOURNAMENT. At the Hokitika courts on Saturday the return inter-club tournament was played between the Grey mouth A team and the Hokitika A team. The weather was ideal for play, and after an interesting afternoon’s play the tournament resulted in each side securing twelve matches, but Hokitika were ahead on the games, winning these by 150 to 139. Following are the details (Hokitika players being mentioned first in each instance): Ladies’ singles: Miss Moore beat Miss Teament 6—2, Miss Lewis lost to Mrs Lawn 2—6, Miss Thompson beat Mrs Larsen 6—2, Miss Leslie lost to Mrs Fletcher 5—6, Mrs Baird lost to Mrs Sclinef 2—6, M.iss Knight bent MrsBrown 6—o. Men’s,singles: Partridge beat McCarthy 9—3, Gooch beat M. Smith 9—2, Keller lost to A. K. Smith B—9, Feist lost to Stephens 5—9 Guthrey lost to Lurking 4—9, McFarlanc lost to Gilbert 3—9. Ladies’ doubles: Misses Moore and Lewis beat Mrs Lawn and Miss Tennent 9—6, Misses Thompson and Leslie lost to Mcsdames Larsen and Fletcher 7—9, Miss Knight and Mrs. Baird beat Mcsdames Scliaef and Brown 9—6. Men’s doubles: Partridge and Gooch beat McCarthy and M. Smith 9—3, Keller and Feist lost to Smith and Stephens 7—9, Guthrie and McFarlane lost to Lorkiug and Gilbert 2—9. Combined doubles: Partridge and Miss Moore beat McCarthy and Miss Tennent 9—3, Gooch and Miss Lewis beat Mr and Airs, Lawn 9—5, Keller and Miss'Thompson beat A. K. Smith and Mrs Larsen 9—6, Feist and Miss Leslie lost to Lorkiug and Mrs Fletcher 4—B, Guthrey and Miss Knight lost to Stephens and Miss Schacf 6—9, McFarlane and Mrs Baird beat Gilbert and Mrs Brown 5—3. The Hokitika B. team played the Grcymouth B. team on the Grey courts on Saturday, the home team winning by. 13 sets to 9, or 144 games to 119. The first men’s doubles and the second combined matches were not played owing to the fact that one of the visiting players returned by the express. Following are the results.
