Archer) ut the opening of the ironmasters’ conference on Wednesday (says the Press). He understood, he said, that the conference was to discuss the question of ('a-' ital and Laliour; it was a question of vital importance to the coinmunitv as a whole. Important conferences had been held in the Old Country. They all knew that it was a great co-partner-ship. and capital c-ouhl not do without labour or labour without capital. ’l'lie only solution was to- find a common interest. He did not that.highp, wages could solve the problem : they often produced unrest. Nor did he believe that money could be the solution / of the problem or of any other problem on. the earth. The worker must feel that they were all working for a common end.
