THE FOURTH TEST. ENGLAND WINS. BY TWELVE RUNS. EXCITING FINISH. (Australian Press Association) ADELAIDE, Feb. 8. A thrilling finish was fought out in the test match, which concluded at the Ulclaide Oval to-day. The attendants; was eight thousand at the start, the prospect of excitement drawing the crowd. The weather was cooler, and'there was a breeze blowing. Bradman ' ond Oxoiihnin played bright cricket at flic start, putting on runs at a good pace, despite the closeness of the fight. In forty minutes they added as many runs, posting up .'DO in 367 minutes. Then a dangerous change came in the position of the teams. Oxenhani, after making 12 in 61 mi Hides, was dismissed by a smart catch by Chapman. Soon afterwards Bradman, who had been batting confidently and brightly, was run out, after scoring 58 in 138 minutes. Australia then wanted 29, and had Oldfield and Grimmett at the creases. With 12 runs wanted. Grimmett swung at one, and was dismissed. Blackie. Australia’s last man, failed to score, and England had won by 12 runs. It was a memorable match. ENGLAND—First Innings. The thrilling finish to tbe fourth test was the subject of considerable comment in Sydney. A huge crowd outside the evening newspaper -offices cheered as every run was posted, but when Bradman went, hopes sank to kopo. Few believed Australia would pull tbe game out of the fire. However. they generously cheered the Englishmen's well-won victory.
