As the result'of Hie timber strike, the Labour Council Executive decided to impose a levy ot a shillinv a wools on adult males and sixpence a week on females on all members who are working. A significant feature is the special exemption from the levy being given the Miners Federation, in view of Hie condition existing in the coal industry.
