HOKITIKA BOXING ASSOCIATION

WEDNESDAY, FEB. oth. The Hokitika Amateur Boxing and Gymnastic Club met at Keller’s Roams. The President (Air F. MeGregor), in moving the adoption of the balance sheet for the boys’ tourney, expressed’ m glowing terms appreciation of the gratuitous services of the members of the Grey Association, Drs Baird, Buchanan and Mandl, the Black Hand Orchestra and all who had assisted. The coys had competed in a vigorous, sportsmanlike spi'rit, which bespoke well for coming' tourneys. The Committee had worked well together, the Tourney being well handled and going through without a hitch. The balance sheet, thanks to concessions from the “Guardian” Office and Princess Theatre Coy., showed a net profit of £2l 12s 6d. He moved the adoption. Seconded by Mr J. J. Breeze and carried. A letter from H. Breeze . asking for the official weight of his son, was read. —Received The Secretary to reply as requested. Moved that another. Boys’ Tournament he held during “Demonstration Week” if it was possible to get Princess Theatre.—Carried. Moved that a letter of thanks be sent to the Greymoutli Association for assistance of its members, and use of boxing ring, mat, gloves etc.—Carried. Moved that a' letter of thanks and j appreciation be sent to Mr and Airs Turner for hospitality in entertaining the Grey Association after the Tourney. —Carried. Moved that Doctors Bruce Baird, H. M. Buchanan and C. M. Mandl be written to thanking them for their services.—Carried. Afoved that Ah* A. Lawn and his assistants he thanked for their contributions to the programme between bouts.—Carried. Aloved that Mr Keller also be the recipient of a letter of thanks for the use of his room.—Carried. Moved that Messrs daggers, and Moffit be written to offering a trophy for a six-round decision bout.—Carried . Accounts amounting to £8 14s were passed for payment.
