Romer Grey from the launch ‘'Zane ■ Jrcy,” succeeded in landing a huge Mako slunk weighing GOSlbs. onDsix jjounds short of the world’s rocoid. When the iisli was lining dragged to the boat. it. was savagely attacked by other Mako sharks, and a terrific* light occurred, tlu* spray living in ( '' r ' e< Lions. When close to the launch, the big lisli attacked the boat, and seized the rudder, bending it, and unfortunately damaging its own magnificent set of teeth in the process. There was a heavy sea running. Ihe launch men had great difficulty in hauling the shark aboard. The- lisli was sent to Wliitianga for exhibition. An enormous Mako lias been sighted off 'Whale Island. Zane Grey is making a special attempt to get him Ibis week.
