TRADE AND INDUSTRY. EXHAUSTIVE SURVEY COMPLETED. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, January 31. The full report of the committee appointed by tbe Labour Government in 1924 to undertake an exhaustive survey of trade and industry in Britain has now been completed, and will be published next month. The committee v. Inch was presided over by Sir Arthur Balfour, of Sheffield, has already prepared a number of interim r--ports dealing with various sections of the country’s industries, hut the statement ot recommendations has been reserved until the full report is avaimme. WEST INDIES SYMPATHY. RUGBY, January 31. The West Indies Conference, which is meeting in Barbadoes, lias sent to the King, through the Colonial Secretary. an expression ot their loyal devotion, and also of the profound sympathy of all sections of the communities represented at the conference, m his long and painful illness. Their heartfelt hope was that Lis convalescence would now he speedily established and Lis health permanently restored. The Colonial Secretary lias telegraphed in reply: “The message from the first West Indies Conference has been laid before her Majesty the Queen, who desires that an expression of her good wishes for the success of the conference, and of her grateful appreciation of their sympathy may he conveyed to the delegates. Her Majesty is sure that, had his health permitted, the King would have followed the proceedings of the conference with keen interest. ROYAL COMMISSION APPOINTED. RUGBY, Jan. 31. Mr Baldwin, in announcing,in the House of Commons the decision to appoint a Royal Commission to require into conditions of labour in India, stated that Indian labour would he represented on the commission.
