Eleanor Smith, a seven toon year old flyer, established a world’s solo endurance flying record for women of thirteen hours sixteen minutes fortylive seconds, when she landed her plane at .Mitchell Field early on Thursday morning. The previous record was twelve hours eleven minutes, hy Miss Bihhy Trout, of California. AEROPLANES SAFE. DEI.IIf. Jan. 31. The missing Air F-tco aeroplane with two airmen, landed safely at Kabul. The other was held up at Kabul with engine trouble. Two other airplanes due to flv to Kabul from Peshawar to rescue foreigners arc held up by the weather. 'Flic Foreign Ollicc at Kabul has reopened the friendliest relations. All j foreigners are courteously treated. < Malik Ghiasaddin Ghilzai. a tribal j leader, is threatening .Bacchus troops | at Gardcz, and is a claimant for pow- ■ cr in the Kliost province. Bacclia is not leaving Kabul. There is a lull in the lighting at present. SOUTHERN CROSS. PROPOSED ELY HOME. I (Received this day at 10.30. a.m.) I SYDNEY, Feb. 1. j The proposed (light of the Southern Cross to England has attracted offers from persons wishing to bo passengers. Ulm stated lie had received exceptionally attractive offers, but on no account will the plane take passengers. The Southern Cross will follow Cobham’s route.
