Captain .Mitchell caught a swordfish of 2701 b. and Bonier Grey, a swordfish weighing 300lh. H. Carney. Hie hitler’s mate, caught a swordfish weighing 3001 b. To dale the parly have caught--38 fish, easily eclipsing the record of any party in Now Zealand waters. East evening Mr Grey sent in throe swordfish lor exhibition. A LIFE SACRIFICE. TO SAVE OTHERS. AUCKLAND, Jan. 20. Herbert John Adams, snglc, aged 29, was drowned on the West Coast today. While bathing near the mouth of the Waitakere River, lie swam out to warn others who, he thought, wore too far out. On returning, Adams became exhausted, and he was unable to regain the beach. Two men went to his rescue, but they became exhausted in the breakers, and had to abandon the attempt. The body has not been recovered. Adams had no relatives in Lite Dominion.
