INQUEST ON PARK. BROTHER’S THEORY. CHRISTCHURCH, Jan. 28. An inquest was hold at Coalgnte today into the death of .James Park, |by Mr La wry, S.M. The chief witness was Edward Leigh Park, brother of the deceased, who gave a complete account of the search made for deceased, and bis friend, John Morpeth. •Witness expressed the opinion that on or about Thursday, January 10, his brother and John Morpeth were swept away and drowned when endeavouring to ford the W ilberlorce River. The Coroner gave a verdict of accidental death by drowning in the Wilberforce River, on or about January 10th.

Mr Murchison, of Gleiithorn Station, will organise a party to search ail ol the route which the trampers must have traversed. It is now certain from the signs found that the boys attempted to cross one of the tributaries of the Wilberforce River, prdbably the Unknown. Whether one of them was swept off his feet and carried away, and the other was lost in attempting to save him, will never be known. The rivers were in high Hood alicr two days rain and were very dangerous.
