News from Salt Lake City states blizzards swept across tlic sheep ranges in north-eastern Utah to-day. marooning large flocks and leaving scores of these animals frozen to death or starving in the snowdrifts. Nevada which is the centre of the sheep country reported the mercury was 38 below zero, the coldest ever recorded there. Sheepmen reported it is impossible to reach their Hocks. Some are attempting to save their flocks by hauling bay 138 miles from Price.
