A TOWN BURNED

DELHI, Jan. 25
Kakka, a small town at tlic end of the Kyber Pass, forty-five miles from Peshawar, was totally destroyed by lire by the Mohmaiuls. No signiiianec is attached to the incident, though the place bad been selected for the tribal gathering mentioned yesterday, heavy snow preventing the tribesmen reaching DakUa. Kabul is snow-bound, and the aerodrome is thickly covered, rendering the rescue of members of the legation staff difficult should 'a serious situation again develop. King Amanulfab is formulating plans to advance on Kabul early in the spring. In Kabul all business is at a standstill. The Shimvaris have openly announced they will not accept Amanullali as their king. Five Afghan Princess, who wore arrested and placed in gaol at AMaliabad, arc on hunger strike. A TEMPORARY LULL. (Received this day at 8 a.m.) DELHI. January 2G. . There is a temporary lull in the Afghan situation, hut Eaccbasakao’.s position is daily becoming more precariously. Unrest and famine threaten Kabul, which is crowded with tribesmen. None of the frontier tribes accept Bacchasakao as king. A snowfall prevents military developments. AFGHAN CABINET. (Received this day at 10.30. a.m.) PESHAWAR, Jan. 27. Hahibullah. formerly the rebel chief Bacchasakao, is reported to have formed a Cabinet from Mohmadzai dan to which Amanullali belongs. The latter’s step brother. Kaliirunbin, is the new Prime Minister.
