Apologies for absence were made for -Messrs Heinz, Evans, and Jelfries. The minutes were confirmed and outward correspondence approved. INAVA RD COR RESPONI)KX( E. From the Secretary, Municipal Association, AVellington, advising that con ifcrence of delegates would he held a AA’anganui on the oth .March, 1929, am 1 forwarding copies of order paper. —Re ceived. From New Zealand Refrigeratin' Coy., Christchurch, advising that a half carcase of meat was delivered ini' Hokitika during the month of Decern her, 1928. —Received. From R coif ton School Committee, applying for use of Cass Square for annual picnic on AA'ednosday, February 13th.— Received and granted. From A. E. Dawson, application for use of Cass Square for niorry-go-roimd for same terms as last letting. Received.

The Town Clerk reported he ban granted the application on the same terms as on the last visit. The action o-l the Town Cork was approved. Mr Hcenan raised the question thatthe Council should prohibit the permission to hold the gambling games in connection with the morry-go-ronnd. There were mostly young children around the tables and this portion ot the show should lie prohibited. Air Duff supported. He had objected U’ these gambling games when permission was asked for and he thought the Council should take action to prevent it in the future. . He moved that a very hearty vote of thanks he accorded the Company for their extension which the Council deeply appreciated. Seconded by Air Hcenan and agreed to.
