WESTPORT. Jan. 24. Hon. W. A. Yeitell. Minister for Mines, arrived liero at 2 p.m. from Murchison, and in the afternoon he went out to Charleston in company with members of the Roller Progress League and other representative citizens" Large lignite deposits were examined. “On his return to town the Minister was the guest of the Progress League at dinner and afterwards was accorded a civic reception in the Town Hall. He heard a large number of deputations on important questions affecting mineral and other industries, accident insurance, and pensions. To-morrow the Minister makes a tour of the coal fields, receiving deputations at each of the chief mining towns.
