SIR WATSON CHKYNE CHARMED. DUNEDTN, January 22. “ I am charmed with all I have seen in New Zealand and with the wonderful hospitality of your people,” said Sir 'Watson Cheync, Bart, K.C.M.G. the eminent surgeon. At tho outset he said ho was in New' Zealand on a health recruiting trip and preferre! not to comment on matters which might make it appear as though lie desired to consider himself a Commission appointed for the purpose. Sir Watson holds the view that New Zealand lias a great future before it from tho tourist point of view and he has enjoyed his stay immensely. It lias been one of the pleasures of Sir Watson Cheyno’s visit to New Zealand that he lias been able to meet a number of Shetland Islanders wdio are now living in tho Dominion. He stated that Sir Robert Stout and other Shetlanders had assisted him in drawing up his itinerary and in this connexion he also praised the work of the New Zealand Tourist Department. He deeply appreciated the courtesy that had been extended to him during his stay in New’ Zealand, and the memories of his present trip would always ho among his most pleasant recollections.
