The United States Senate has adopted Senator Harris’s amendment t« the first Deficiency Appropriation Bill, giving additional twenty-four millions dollars for prohibition enforcement, despite the United States Treasurer, Air Alellon’s protest that above thirteen million dollars has previously been appropriated for the purpose. The Senate then adopted a further amendment giving to Air Hoover, the President-Elect, a vote of two hundred and fifty thousand dollars for an investigation into prohibition reinforcement. Both of these measures must now be passed by the House of Representatives.
