FLOODS CONTINUE
BRISBANE, January 24
The weather conditions on the north coast have moderated. The Hood waters arc now receding. Heavy rain, however, is falling in Townsville district. Most of the lines are flooded.
Proserpine river is in high flood, the result off torrential rain. Ten inches were registered in thirty-three hours). All bridges are submerged and the surrounding country is flooded and the lower parts of the town are under water.
