MINERS’ DISTRESS
PRINCE OF WALES TO VISIT COLLIERIES. (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright-'. LONDON. Jan. 21. The Daily News says that the Prince of Vales will shortly tour some of the principal coalfields of Britain, in order to see for himself the distress among the three hundred thousand minors who are unemployed, and among th families. The Prince of Wales will visit the miners’ homes, also viewing the derelict collieries and observing tbe stagnation into which some of tbe coal areas have sunk. Tbe Prince will thus lie gaining a first-hand knowledge of the position before he makes a further broadcasting appeal for funds. The Prince has intimated he dot's not want any civic receptions or ceremonies.
